Nevit Kodalli Chamber Music Application and Research Center

Nevit Kodallı Chamber Music Application and Research Center was established within Mersin University with the purpose of advancing, disseminating, and supporting classical music culture on a scientific and academic basis. The Center is committed to preserving and promoting the artistic legacy of the composer Nevit Kodallı, after whom it is named, as well as to enhancing public access to universal music and providing students in arts education with structured performance opportunities.

The Mersin University Academic Chamber Orchestra, founded in the 2002–2003 concert season, constitutes a core component of the Center’s artistic activities and supports the sustainability and institutionalization of its practices.

The Center carries out its activities in line with its mission to disseminate universal music to wider audiences, promote the works of Turkish composers, support the artistic and professional development of students, and enhance institutional representation at national and international levels. In this context, the Center organizes concerts, seminars, workshops, competitions, and educational programs, thereby contributing to cultural life while fostering academic productivity and institutional collaboration.

Vision: To become a leading and internationally recognized research and application center in the field of classical music, distinguished by its contributions to artistic production, education, and cultural interaction; and to play a pioneering role in shaping the arts through digitalization, participatory governance, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
