HISTORY
Our School was established in 2005 as the first higher education institution of its kind among state universities, initially offering undergraduate programs in Business Information Management and Computer Technology and Information Systems.
The first cohort of students graduated in 2010.In 2010, theBusiness Information Management Department also launched a graduate program. The Master’s Program in Business Information Management officially began admitting students in the Spring Semester of the 2010–2011 Academic Year, and it continues to provide education and research opportunities to this day.
Students who have completed their undergraduate studies may pursue graduate education provided that they obtain a valid score from the ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam), possess sufficient proficiency in English, and successfully pass the departmental entrance examination.
The Department admits students based on the Equal Weight (EA) score type, and the language of instruction is Turkish.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Computer Technology and Information Systems aims to educate individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to design, manage, develop, and program computer-based systems.
Our graduates are well-equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to successfully secure employment in public or private sector organizations or to establish their own businesses without difficulty.
TRANSPORTATION
The campus of our School is located along the main highway on the Mersin–Erdemli route. Transportation is provided by private minibuses operating between Mersin and Erdemli, as well as by Metropolitan Municipality buses (lines 156 and 170).
Additionally, local minibuses operate between neighborhoods and the town center. Students with a Mersin University student ID card are entitled to discounted fares on both buses and minibuses.
ACCOMMODATION
Student housing is provided by the Erdemli Kızkalesi Dormitory, affiliated with the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories Agency (KYK) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Dormitory rooms generally accommodate four students and are designed to separate study and sleeping areas. Each room is equipped with desks, private bathrooms, mini refrigerators, nightstands, and wardrobes.
Facilities such as dining halls and canteens are available to ensure that students have access to healthy, balanced, and affordable meals.
The dormitory is located approximately 3.2 km from our School. For newly admitted students, an information desk will be set up at the entrance of the School building to provide details and guidance regarding accommodation.
In addition, surveys will be conducted among newly enrolled students to identify those in need of housing or scholarships, and appropriate referrals will be made to relevant institutions.
Students who are placed through additional quotas by ÖSYM, those returning under Law No. 7143, graduate students, transfer students (vertical/horizontal), exchange students (domestic and international), undergraduate completion students, and non-scholarship international students must apply through the e-Government portal within the period determined by the Directorate General.
Students who are unable to obtain accommodation or are placed on the waiting list are advised to contact the Erdemli Kızkalesi Dormitory Directorate of the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories at +90 (324) 515 22 48 for assistance.
SECURITY
Since its establishment, our School has not experienced any security incidents. Campus safety is ensured through the coordinated efforts of official law enforcement and private security personnel.
